AzaMax (Azadirachtin) is an effective, safe miticide and insecticide made from Neem seed rather than Neem oil. This natural Neem product can be used on various garden pests infesting a wide array of plants.
In this article, we discuss how to use AzaMax for spider mites control. Read on to learn more.
How Is AzaMax Made?
The ingredients of this all-purpose, natural miticide/insecticide are extracted from the seeds of the Neem tree.
The patented extraction method results in a product that contains both Azadirachtin A and B, along with over a hundred types of limonoids.
All are very effective against garden and houseplant pests.
The extraction method used does not involve chemical solvents. Instead, it is conducted using food-grade formula ingredients entirely. Because of this safe, chemical-free extraction process, AzaMax has been licensed throughout the United States.
How Does AzaMax Work?
This product works as an antifeedant and a growth regulator of insect pests.
As such, it controls and eradicates pests by interrupting their feeding, starving them, and disrupting their growth processes, thereby eliminating maturation.
What Pests Does AzaMax Control?
In addition to spider mites, AzaMax is effective against:
- Soil-borne pests
- Fungus gnats
- Leafhoppers
- Mealybugs
- Leaf miners
- Nematodes
- Whiteflies
- Beetles
- Worms
- Aphids
- Scales
- Thrips
This broad-spectrum biopesticide is excellent for general garden use.
When Should You Use AzaMax?
You should begin using the product just ahead of the first predicted appearance of pests or as soon as they appear.
This safe, oil-free miticide/insecticide can be applied to your veggie garden any time, right up to the day you harvest your veg.
This is because it leaves no residue on your plants, flowers, fruits, and vegetables.
How Much AzaMax Should You Use?
Generally speaking, when using the product as a foliar spray, you can use one or two tablespoonfuls of AzaMax concentrate for each gallon of water.
Apply foliar spray about once a week.
You can also use it as a soil drench by mixing a half ounce to a full ounce per one gallon of water. The amount of concentrate varies for this use.
Consult the label when mixing, and remember the label is the law. Apply soil drench about once every 5 or 6 days.
How Much Azadirachtin Does AzaMax Contain?
The product contains 1.2% percent Azadirachtin, so it is just as powerful against pests as any synthetic product, but it does not harm the environment.
Azadirachtin is the most powerful of the more than one hundred limonoids (triterpenes) produced by the Neem tree.
As a result, Azadirachtin is responsible for approximately 90% of the negative impact on pests attributed to Neem Oil and Neem Seed Extract.
Are Neem Products Really Safe?
Of the many botanical miticides and insecticides currently on the market, Neem products are among the least toxic to humans.
They also have very low toxicity to beneficial garden dwellers. For this reason, learning how to use AzaMax for spider mites and other garden pests is a wise choice.
